The Racing To Read Book Tag!

Hello, Bookworms! I am back with another tag post. I saw this tag at Whispering Stories, check out Riddhi’s blog, it’s fantastic! I am very excited to do this tag, as for the past few months, I have fallen in love with Formula1. So I have been watching races and boosting my serotonin! Let’s get into the tag!

Warm Up: A book that stretches your mind.

Ace Of Spades kept me on the edge of the seat the whole time. The writing style is different in such a way that it gave me anxiety for the characters. I highly recommend this one.

Start Line: What’s a book that you started but never finished?

Lets be real. Many. I get so excited in the moment for a book, that I will read 50 pages of it and not finish it. So, I wont mention one because there are so many books that I have left 😦

Sprint: A book you read really quickly

It took me 4-5 hours to finish this book and it was so enjoyable to read!

Marathon: What’s your favorite long book?

I absolutely loved this book! Its 670 pages long, but every page was worth the read! Cassandra Clare has the magic to do that.

Hurdles: What’s a book that had ups and downs?

This book is filled with ups and downs. It gets slow and then a plot twist comes in.

Finish Line: A book you were proud to finish

I felt so happy and proud of myself when I finished this book as it is the first book I read that started my reading journey ❤

Gold Medal: Best book you’ve read during a readathon

Unfortunately I have never participated in a readathon.

Participation Ribbon: An underrated book you wish got more attention

This book is so underrated. It was a very surprising read and I enjoyed the friendship element with horror setting.

I tag:

  1. @Leah’s Books

Reading & Book Collecting.

Hello Bookish People! Hope all are doing well. “Why do you collect books? You can read them on your kindle.” Have mundanes said this to your reader’s hearts? Did they tell you that “buying books is a waste of money”? Oh, the way it breaks our hearts… So today, I will be discussing reading and book collecting.

Book Reading.

Reading is a hobby. Some people read books to gain knowledge, while some read for escapism. Some prefer physical copies over e-books or vice versa. For many people, the format of the book does not matter.

Book Collecting.

Book Collecting is also a hobby. These people are readers who like to read and build up their own collection by buying and collecting books. I personally count myself as a reader and a book collector. The only problem here is that book collectors run out of space easily XD.

I feel that book collectors are not understood by the people. Readers like to build their own library which is completely fine. Physical books Vs e-books will always be on as it is very preferential. Not all readers are book collectors as many are comfortable with any format. But many want to make their room aesthetic by showcasing their babies and building a mini library they always dreamt of!

People don’t object to a reader but will always object to a person who calls themselves a book collector. Accept us and show us some love too hahaha.

This is a short post, but let me know in the comments your thoughts on this topic!

Book Haul!

Hello Bookish People! Today I will be showing some books that I brought and received from January to August. During my summer vacation, I visited a second-hand bookstore and got some books. I haven’t done a haul so I decided to show all the books that I have brought and received since January!

So in total, I have brought 17 books so far, one book is not there in this photo as I have given it to my friend for reading, and the other one I completely forgot to include XD.

January~

I was gifted these books and I have read I Love You So Mochi. I had started The Secret History but I have left it halfway. I received Not Here To Be Liked by the publisher.

February~

I got these books from a book fair that was there near my home. I wanted to start reading self-help books so I brought two self-help books and one murder mystery!

March~

I brought The Cousins from amazon as I was going on a trip to meet my cousins, so I wanted to match the occasion lol. Then I brought the other book when I went book shopping with my friends!

May~

As May was summer vacation, I brought Red, White & Royal Blue, A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, The Maidens, and Call Me By Your Name from a second-hand bookstore. The Time Keeper and Frankenstein were gifted to me. I received Lost Girl from the publisher.

July~

I have been meaning to read books by Brianna West. I am currently reading 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some books I brought in these seven months. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see this kind of post for the remaining months!

Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag 2022 Edition!

Hello Bookish People! Hope all are doing good. I am very late to this tag, but I was very excited to do this tag as every bookish creator shares their reading updates after 6 months! I am not aware of the original creator of this tag, but I found this over at Twirling Book Princess. Let’s get into the tag!

For Your Information:

I have read 19 books so far and my goal is to read 50 books by the end of 2022.

1. What is the best book you have read so far in 2022?

Verity hands down is the best book I have ever read. It surprised and shocked me that an author could write a story like this. I devoured this book in a day, loved it!

So I haven’t read any sequels except It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han which I did not like.

3. What is a new release that you haven’t read yet but want to?

I have been wanting to read this book for a long time. Although I have never read a VE Schwab book, somehow I found the summary of this book very intriguing.

I am so desperate for these books to come out!
The Final Gambit: 30th August
The Weight Of Blood: 6th September
Nine Liars: 27th December

6. What was your biggest surprising book so far?

I did not expect this book to be good. The ending totally surprised me and I enjoyed the summer setting and the relationship between the cousins!

Karen M. McManus is a phenomenal author! Her murder mysteries and thrillers are top-notch! Absolutely love her writing style, story, and character development!

8. Who is your new fictional crush?

Conrad Fisher from The Summer I Turned Pretty is my new fictional crush!

9. Who is your newest favorite character?

None comes to my mind right now. I guess I did not find any character that I connected with or found relatable yet.

10. What books made you cry?

When I read the ending, I broke down. The whole book has shown such a deep relationship between the characters and the summer setting was also so good!

11. What is one book that made you happy?

As this book is about a girl exploring Japan and finding love, it was very enjoyable. It is happy and funny that I always love in contemporary stories.

12. What is the most beautiful book you have bought or received so far this year?

I received this book from the publisher and when I first saw this book, I was in love with the cover!

13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
