Most Anticipated Book Releases Of 2022!

Hello, bookworms! 2021 is nearing the end, so it’s time to discuss some releases I am excited for in 2022!

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Release Date: August 30th 2022

This is the final book in The Inheritance Games Series and I have been highly anticipating it since I read the second book. The first two books blew my mind and I am desperate to know how this story ends. The whole series is about a girl named Avery Grambs who has nothing and has plans for a better future. But, one fine day, billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why–or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into a sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch–and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes. If you have read The Truly Devious series, then this trilogy is for you!

The Gifts That Bind Us by Caroline O’ Donoghue

Release Date: February 3rd 2022

When I read the first book, I did not expect to like it. But, it turned out to be an addictive and adventurous read. It is about a girl named Maeve whose life is a mess until she finds a pack of tarot cards in the chokey of her school. She starts drawing cards for students in her school, but when she draws a card for her ex-best friend Lily, she disappears. Now Maeve has to find her before Lily disappears forever. This is the second book and I am excited for this book to come out!

This Is Not The Real World by Anna Carey

Release Date: May 24th 2022

The first book surprised me! I did not expect the story would go in the other way and I did not see the huge plot twist coming! Jess Flynn is struggling with her life in the ’90s. Her overprotective parents cramping her social life and her younger sister’s worsening health, the only constant changes–and her hometown of Swickley, which feels smaller by the day. Swickley is getting weirder by the day, too. Half the population has been struck down by the mysterious flu. Conversations end awkwardly when Jess enters the room. And then one day, a tiny, sleek black device–with an apple logo on it–falls out of her best friend’s backpack and lands at Jess’s feet.

These Deadly Games by Diana Urban

Release Date: February 1st 2022

I have read the debut novel by this author and I enjoyed it. Although there were some things I didn’t like, overall it was a solid read. I have the ARC of this book, so I will pick this up soon.

When Crystal Donavan gets a message on a mysterious app with a video of her little sister gagged and bound, she agrees to play the kidnapper’s game. At first, they make her complete bizarre tasks: steal a test and stuff it in a locker, bake brownies, make a prank call. But then Crystal realizes each task is meant to hurt—and kill—her friends, one by one. But if she refuses to play, the kidnapper will kill her sister. Is someone trying to take her team out of the running for a gaming tournament? Or have they uncovered a secret from their past, and wants them to pay for what they did…
The summary is so intriguing, so excited to pick this one up!

Even though I haven’t read the second book yet, but the first book was enough to grip me to this trilogy! The first book was filled with royal family drama and I enjoyed it! Eagerly waiting for this one to come out!

Maureen Johnson mentioned in her newsletter that she is coming up with a new Stevie Bell mystery in 2022. I will be waiting desperately for the book to come out!

End Of The Year Updates!

Hello bookish people! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! Sorry for my absence, I have been super busy with stuff lately. But, from 2022, I will be back with consistent posting! Today I will be sharing some end of the year updates. 2021 was an exploration reading year for me. I read and explored genres, tried new bookish things and enjoyed a lot while blogging!

How Many Books Did I Read In 2021?

So, I had kept a goal of 100 books, but I couldn’t accomplish it this year. But that’s okay because I had kept it for myself, so better luck next time! Maybe by the end of the year, I’ll probably finish two more books.

Best Books I Read In 2021!

I read many five star books this year! My favourite book of the year was White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson and my favourite series of the year was Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson!

Average Books I Read In 2021.

These books were not bad. At some point, I was enjoying them, but in some, the ending was not up to the mark. While in others, addition to a particular trope in between of the story ruined the whole thing. Hence these were average reads for me.

DNF’ed Books.

From what I have heard, these books are loved by readers. I gave The Astonishing Colour Of After by Emily X.R. Pan a lot of chances and after 8 months, I decided to DNF it. The writing style was beautiful, but I picked up that book at the wrong phase so it started to affect me.
On the other hand, I was not at all invested in A Song Of Wraiths And Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown and We Are Okay by Nina Lacour, so after a point, they went into the DNF Zone.

Audiobooks I Listened To In 2021.

Funny story: I fell asleep while listening to Daisy Jones & The Six and missed two hours of the story. And I am too lazy to go back now XD. But, the narration of this book was top notch! Coming to The Voting Booth, It was a cute contemporary story set in a day. It was fun listening to the voting adventures and chaos between the characters!

What Is My Reading Goal For 2022?

I will be keeping a goal of 50 books in 2022! This is a laid back reading year for me, I may end up reading more books too, so let’s see how 2022 goes!

I will be posting my anticipated books for 2022 soon and also post some of my reading and blogging goals! Thank you for always supporting my blog, I love all of you! Have a great Christmas and a new year! I hope 2022 will be the best year for all of you!
Happy Reading!

White Smoke! #bookreview.

Hello, Bookworms! Today I will be reviewing White Smoke which was kindly sent to me by Harper Collins in exchange for my honest review! Thank you for sending a copy! Also, I buddy read this book with four of my friends!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Book: White Smoke
Author: Tiffany D. Jackson
Pages: 384
Genre: Psychological Thriller, Young Adult

Marigold is running from ghosts. The phantoms of her old life keep haunting her, but a move with her newly blended family from their small California beach town to the embattled Midwestern city of Cedarville might be the fresh start she needs. Her mom has accepted a new job with the Sterling Foundation that comes with a free house, one that Mari now has to share with her bratty ten-year-old stepsister, Piper.

The renovated picture-perfect home on Maple Street, sitting between dilapidated houses, surrounded by wary neighbours has its . . . secrets. That’s only half the problem: household items vanish, doors open on their own, lights turn off, shadows walk past rooms, voices can be heard in the walls, and there’s a foul smell seeping through the vents only Mari seems to notice. Worse: Piper keeps talking about a friend who wants Mari gone.

As the house closes in, Mari learns that the danger isn’t limited to Maple Street. Cedarville has its secrets, too. And secrets always find their way through the cracks.

My Review.

This book gave me goosebumps! The story was going at a slow pace in the starting to hook the readers. The author did a great job with the family representation. Also, I was glad that the author did not put a romance trope. There was interest, but it was moreover friendship. Coming to the horror part, the story was spooky. There were some scenes where I could visualise the whole thing in my head.

The main character is trying to run from her brutal past and start over. She also has a bedbug phobia, so in the whole book, she is mentioning facts about bedbugs and gets anxious even if she sees coffee beans! Her stepsister plays a huge role in the story. She is shown to be a very unlikeable character and is ruining many things for the main character. At first, I hated the stepsister and felt like throwing the book across the room for the things she used to do. But, in the ending, I felt that it wasn’t her fault for what she used to do. But, the drama was good hahaha.

Coming to the ending, it was worth it. There was a huge plot twist, but the suspense and tension built up, left a huge impact towards the end. I was completely invested in the book hence finished it in two days! You guys should read this book if you love a good spooky story with a family trope!

Have you read this book? Let me know in the comments! I will be back with another post soon!

Albums & Tracks I Listen To On Repeat!

Hello Readers! I listen to music 24/7, It’s there with me when I do projects, studies and while reading books! Spotify came out with 2021 Wrap Up today and this is what it showed…

Oh well! I listen to a lot of music phew!

Music is a serotonin boost for me, so I decided to share some albums and tracks I have been listening to non-stop!

Albums I Listen To On Repeat.

As I have mentioned before, Jeremy Zucker is my favourite singer and his album i.e. Crusher came out on 1st October. Since then, I have been listening to this album non-stop! My most favourite track from this album is Therapist!

Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker worked on this album i.e. Brent ii together. This Is the live version of the whole album and I was in heaven listening to this one! Their voices are so soothing and calm, in love with this one!

This album was a key to escapism. All the songs had different moods. My favourite song is Saturday from this album!

Miss Taylor re- dropping Red, I stan! The nostalgia was there and all of them bought so many memories! Her new songs from the vault were chef’s kiss. I Knew You Were Trouble never gets old for me, it was such a good song!

Tracks I Listen To On Repeat.

Obsessed with this song!
This is such a happy song! Loved it.
Jordi was a hit album according to me! Blackbear and Maroon 5 are a great duo!
Such an iconic song! You guys should definitely listen to this one!
Green day is my favourite band. I started learning this song on my guitar but then left it because I’m lazy XD.
I listen to this song while reading books. I found this song while watching a series and instantly fell in love with it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! I will be back with another post soon! Till then jam to your favourite song and keep reading!
Happy Reading!

November Wrap Up!

Hello, Bookworms! 2021 is nearing the end. I read 9 books in November, which is pretty good considering that I read none in October. So let’s go!

Books I Read In November.

I read great books this month! It took me days to finish some books, while some took me a couple of hours. I re-read Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare because I was missing the iconic characters and the ending of the series. I finished the Serpent & Dove Trilogy this month, which was a rollercoaster ride for me!

I went into a phase where I read a book every day. So three consecutive days I ended up finishing three books, which was fun! The disappointing read for this month would be All These Bodies by Kendare Blake. The story plot was good, but there was an addition to the plot which ruined everything. Also, the ending wasn’t up to the mark.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments! December is going to be a full-fledged reading month because I aiming to finish my Goodreads Challenge! I will be back with another post soon!
Happy Reading!
